AIE Film Studios

In partnership with the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), a non-profit educator specialising in film, 3D Animation, video games and visual effects, we are developing AIE Film Studios to enable DEMS Entertainment and other producing partners to film their forthcoming productions in Canberra. DEMS Entertainment plans to produce one project a year at these facilities once they are completed.

The film studio will cater for commercial use on the condition that productions will enable an agreed number of AIE film and VFX students to be attached to industry partner projects.

The facilities will be co-sited at AIE’s Canberra campus (aie.edu.au) which includes Film Plus production facilities (filmplus.com.au) and Game Plus co-working spaces (gameplus.com.au). The purpose-built facility will enable both virtual production and traditional filmmaking, for the independent film and tv production industry.

Custom built features will include:

• 1,200 sqm (12,916 sq.f) Soundstage/Production Hall
• 900 sqm (9,687 sq.f) Construction Workshop
• Professional production facilities including foley, edit and grading.
• Green Rooms
• Wardrobe
• Makeup Room

Construction is currently planned to start in mid to late 2024 (subject to DA Approval) and Stage 1 will be completed by late 2026. The Soundstage facility may be completed by the end of 2025.
